Loyalty:

Loyalty is demonstrated by being true to those who are depending on you. Defend always against unfair treatment. Do not bad mouth people, events, or situations. This is a two way street. Remember the quote, "Semper Fidelis" - always faithful.

As a leader, every word, every action must reflect your loyalty. Always back the people that you deal with when he/she is right. Correct them when they are wrong. You're being loyal both ways. Pass on information as if it was your own even if the information is not to your liking. To blame someone else for an unpopular decision will weaken your position.

Keep personal problems and and personal information that you possess to yourself. But, when it is proper to do so help others with their difficulties. Never criticize others in the presence of other people - and make sure that you communicate this to others that criticize people. Remember to praise in public and criticize in private. If a good person gets into trouble, go to bat for him/her. That person will work harder for you when it's all over.
